How to remove belly fat after childbirth and what to do if it “doesn’t go away”?

During pregnancy and after it, body transformation cannot be avoided. You should accept the changes calmly, because it is quite possible to remove the belly after childbirth. Of course, this will require a lot of effort and patience, but the result will certainly please you. Proper nutrition and constant training will help you achieve your main goal, without which not a single weight loss process can be completed.

Many mothers wonder when the belly will go away after childbirth. In fact, the exact period of time during which it will be possible to say goodbye to the hated fat cannot be determined. It depends on the characteristics of the body, the duration and quality of training, as well as the initial weight.

Recommendations for young mothers

The postpartum belly and appearance do not allow mothers to leave the maternity hospital as if nothing had happened. Fortunately, such problems are completely solvable. Psychological stability plays an important role here. In order not to fail in the process of losing weight, you should follow simple advice from doctors and experienced parents. The main ones are the following:

  1. You should be kinder to yourself and always remember your priorities. A good mood and health are much more important than unnecessary centimeters in the waist, because the volume can be removed over time, but if you feel unwell, you can walk for quite a long time, trying to correct this condition to no avail.
  2. It is necessary to pay enough attention to your husband. By consciously becoming a father, a representative of the stronger sex takes care of the relationship with his beloved, intimacy, as well as a comfortable climate in the family. This is explained by the simple fact that most men, after the birth of a baby, no longer want to change anything within their family.
  3. You should be wise in your new role. Children grow quite quickly, so you need to focus on your little one. After all, you will be able to lose excess weight in literally a couple of months, but the first sounds of a child are heard only once in a lifetime.

How long after childbirth does the stomach return to normal?

Discharge after childbirth is called lochia. These discharges are dead particles of the endometrium, as a result of detachment of the placenta from it.

As a rule, the first 2-5 days after the birth of a child (it does not matter whether he was born naturally or as a result of a cesarean section), the discharge is bright red and very profuse (more abundant than during menstruation).

It is difficult to get by with regular sanitary pads; you need to purchase special postpartum ones. At the time of discharge from the maternity hospital (5-7 days), vaginal discharge becomes less abundant and acquires a brown tint.

How long does discharge last after childbirth normally? It's different for everyone. It depends on how well the uterus contracts, as well as on the characteristics of pregnancy and childbirth. For more intense uterine contractions, in many maternity hospitals, women in labor are injected with Oxytocin for the first three days (although this is not necessary). How well the uterus contracts is visible both visually and on ultrasound.

Some people leave the maternity hospital with an impressive belly at 6 months of pregnancy, while others are already beginning to develop abs. Normally, the discharge stops a month after birth; the maximum “smear” can last 6 weeks after the birth of the child. If the process is delayed, or the bleeding becomes severe again, you must urgently contact the antenatal clinic and have an ultrasound done.

Slow postpartum involution (contraction, restoration) of the uterus may indicate an inflammatory process.

If you suddenly experience heavy bleeding, this may be a symptom that part of the placenta remains inside; in this case, the uterus is “cleaned” in a hospital setting.

By the way, it has been noticed that the uterus contracts faster and returns to normal in women who breastfeed at the request of their babies (during the feeding process, the hormone oxytocin starts the process of uterine contractions); with timely emptying of the bladder; when lying on your stomach (not everyone can meet this condition, since after childbirth the abdominal wall hurts quite a lot).

A dangerous symptom is if the discharge after childbirth has an unpleasant odor, plus fever and chills are added - this may be a sign of a serious inflammatory process (postpartum discharge is a wonderful breeding ground for pathogens), infection. Sometimes such discharge after childbirth occurs due to the obstetrician or doctor “forgetting” a cotton swab in a woman’s vagina. There is no need to ignore yellow discharge after childbirth or white cheesy discharge, the latter may indicate a relapse of candidiasis (thrush).

While there is spotting after childbirth, you should not take a bath, only a shower. You can wash yourself periodically with decoctions of medicinal, safe herbs, for example, chamomile.

But you need to be more careful with manganese (it is recommended to treat sutures on the genitals after an episiotomy with manganese), since if its concentration in water is high, you can get a burn to the mucous membrane.

It is also better to hold off on sex, even if you already have brown discharge after childbirth, and not bloody. Sex can cause heavy bleeding.

Intimate relationships, in principle, like any strong physical activity, should be postponed until the lochia disappears completely and a gynecological examination is performed.

Be sure to go to the doctor, don’t be lazy, he will also advise you on the most suitable method of contraception.

How long does it take for the belly to go away after childbirth?

If you don’t take care of yourself, your stomach may not go away at all. After two months, the uterus will return to its original position and there will be no further changes. You need to wear a bandage for the first time after childbirth.

When the bleeding stops, you need to start doing abdominal exercises. It is necessary to constantly monitor your stomach: pull it in, do not “loose it,” and maintain your posture.

Then your efforts will be crowned with success - in six months your tummy will be the same as before.

But he may not leave if you don’t work on yourself!

Interesting: Baby arches his back for 3 months

The stomach itself and the muscles return to normal within 3-4 months. But if you want a flat stomach and even abs again, then only exercise will help. And intense ones. Preferably group lessons with an instructor. Of course, you can do it on your own, but girls, especially those who have given birth, lack incentives.

Belly after childbirth

There are many reasons for sagging of this part of the body. The most significant of them are:

  1. Restructuring of hormonal levels. It happens to absolutely everyone. During this period, the body activates fat deposition. Apple body shapes suffer the most, and those with pear body shapes should remember the risk of fat deposits forming in the waist area. Prevention in this case will include calorie control both during pregnancy and after it. For painless weight loss, you just need to create the right diet, rich in nutrients.
  2. Calorie content of consumed dishes. The myth that after the birth of a baby a mother is forced to eat for two has a significant impact on the extra calories. Not wanting to ruin it, mothers subconsciously turn on the “green light” for sweets, flour products, as well as fatty and spicy foods. Because of this, the kilograms only increase, and it is not always possible to stop this process with the help of physical education.
  3. Physiological stretching of the abdominal muscles. Since during gestation the fetus must be contained in the womb, the muscles automatically become thinner and stretched. This process is another reason for the accumulation of fat around the abdomen. This is done to protect against mechanical injuries, but after childbirth, the muscles remaining in a stretched state do not make mothers happy.

It is quite difficult to say exactly when the belly will go away after childbirth. On average, women need about a year to achieve the desired result. You can speed up this process only with serious efforts and the manifestation of your willpower. If you only do a warm-up every day and don’t even adhere to proper nutrition, you will lose no more than two kilograms, and therefore no visual changes will occur.

How soon can you tighten your stomach?

The speed of contraction of the abdominal muscles and skin after childbirth depends on the type of constitution and genetic predisposition of the woman. For some women in labor, the belly is practically invisible just a few weeks after the birth of the baby, while others cannot remove it for many months.

  • The body needs some time to contract stretched muscles. The more elastic the muscles, the faster they will return to their original shape, which is why in young women under 20 years of age the belly goes away much faster than in older mothers.
  • Multiple pregnancies or large fetal sizes slightly lengthen the period of postpartum muscle contraction. On average, it takes from several weeks to two months to tighten muscles. If a woman has gained a large number of additional kilograms during pregnancy, then this period may be prolonged. The abdominal wall is also greatly stretched during repeated pregnancies.
  • If delivery was carried out by cesarean section, then a scar remains on the uterus and skin of the abdomen, which will prevent muscle contraction. In addition, during the operation, the nerve endings are damaged, so muscle tone is noticeably reduced, which also affects their ability to contract. Painful sensations that accompany a woman for a long time after surgery interfere with tightening her stomach and lengthen the recovery period.

How long it takes the body to restore its previous shape usually depends on the woman in labor. In the case where even three months after childbirth the belly still remains, the woman should take additional measures to eliminate it.

Active efforts

After childbirth, you should not start cleaning your belly right away. Due to the characteristics of the body, physical exercise and dietary restrictions immediately after the baby is born can harm the mother.

If the birth took place naturally and there were no complications, then you can start doing light exercises already on the 10th day. But at the same time, you are allowed to pump up the press only after a month.

In the case of a caesarean section, the area where the suture is located should not be touched under any circumstances for 5 months. After 8 weeks, only static exercises are allowed. The ideal option would be a “vacuum” in a lying position, in which you can only retract the abdominal muscles to an average level. There is no question of tightening the abdomen after childbirth. This method is often used by frivolous mothers who do not think at all about their own health. Instead, you should use a bandage, which, if worn correctly, will reduce pain in the suture area and also support the lower abdomen.

If you don’t switch to active sports and limit your diet in a timely manner, you can earn yourself several additional problems. These include:

  • bleeding;
  • anemia;
  • problems with lactation;
  • hypovitaminosis;
  • vaginal prolapse;
  • divergence of seams.

To protect yourself, you should first consult with a specialist. He will tell you when and how best to start the process of fighting a sagging belly.

Where to start restoring your figure

Many women want to start getting back in shape immediately after giving birth. However, there must be moderation in everything. On the first day after natural childbirth, you can start wearing a postpartum bandage belt. It is advisable to use it throughout the entire postpartum period - for 6-8 weeks. The bandage helps contract the muscles of the uterus and anterior abdominal wall, as well as the skin, and thus helps restore the figure. It also helps with lower back pain, which is often a problem after childbirth. There are contraindications for wearing a postpartum bandage (certain types of sutures after cesarean section, kidney disease and gastrointestinal tract), so before using it you must consult with an obstetrician-gynecologist at the maternity hospital. In the first days after childbirth, some physical exercises that strengthen the abdominal muscles are allowed. Exercising in the early postpartum period will help you recover faster. Here is a set of exercises that can be performed the very next day after childbirth and throughout the entire recovery period (the first 6-8 weeks after childbirth) 2-3 times a day.

Starting position: lying on your back. Inhale slowly, as you inhale, draw in your stomach, then exhale just as slowly, and as you exhale, inflate your stomach. Repeat 10 times. Starting position: lying on your back, bend your knees, feet on the floor shoulder-width apart, hands on your lower abdomen. Inhale slowly through your nose and then exhale just as slowly through your mouth, while making the sounds: “haaaaa,” trying to draw in your stomach as much as possible. While exhaling, lightly “help” him with your hands, moving your palms in the direction from the pubic bone to the navel. In this case, you should not press with your palms, but simply stroke your lower abdomen with your hands. Repeat the exercise 10 times. Starting position: lying on your side, knees slightly bent. Perform inhalations and exhalations as described in the previous exercise, combining them with stroking with your hands from the pubic bone to the navel. Repeat the exercise 10 times on each side. Starting position: lying on your stomach, arms resting on your elbows. Place a small, thick pad under your lower abdomen

It is important that there is minimal or no pressure on the chest. As you exhale, move your pelvis forward

While inhaling, return to the starting position. Repeat 10 times. Starting position: standing facing the wall, legs apart and slightly bent at the knees. Place your palms against the wall, and also press your forearms against the wall (elbows pointing down). Tighten your abs, as if bringing your right elbow to your left knee, then your left elbow to your right knee, without lifting your palms from the wall and your feet from the floor. No actual movements need to be made - only the abdominal muscles and back muscles are worked. As you inhale, relax your muscles.

Losing weight taking into account the characteristics of the body

Women are constantly interested in how to remove a sagging belly after childbirth, because each of them has some individual characteristics that do not allow them to achieve results using standard methods. For example, those who are overweight and have stretched muscles should get rid of fat deposits gradually. It will be enough for the body to exercise 3 times a week, which will include lunges, squats, planks, and push-ups. At the same time, you need to pump up your abs regularly. It is best to do this every morning before eating.

If there is no excess fat and the abdominal muscles are weak, it will be much easier to cope with the problem. Here, to get a positive result, you need to pump your abs every day until they burn, and your diet should be structured so that there is no excess calories.

If there is diastasis of the abdominal muscles, exercises are selected exclusively by the doctor. Because of this problem, the risk of harm to health increases significantly, so it is better to warn yourself and immediately seek help from a specialist. The most popular exercises for such women are: standing abdominal tucks, cat curls, leg raises and crunches.

What will help you contract muscles faster?

Usually, in cases where a large sagging belly needs to be removed, a woman purchases a gym membership or immediately goes on a diet. However, this recipe is not suitable for mothers after childbirth. Doctors allow active participation in sports no earlier than 4–6 months after the birth of the baby. You also can’t limit yourself to a diet, since how a newborn baby will grow and develop depends on the diet of a nursing mother.

In addition, in order for the mother’s body to recover more quickly after childbirth, it needs to receive a certain amount of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Significant physical activity and poor nutrition can worsen lactation and lead to hormonal imbalance in the female body, which is why it is undesirable to use such methods until the end of breastfeeding.

The belly will remain large until the uterus shrinks to its original size. Therefore, the mother needs to perform a set of exercises daily to stimulate uterine contractions, called postpartum gymnastics.

You can speed up the process of muscle and skin contraction after childbirth in the following ways:

  • Using creams for stretch marks. Special cosmetics for stretch marks will help increase the elasticity of the skin, which will visually make the stomach less flabby.
  • Massage. Quite an effective way to tighten the abdomen after childbirth. Massage increases blood circulation in tissues, increases muscle tone, which contributes to faster muscle contraction. After just a few massage sessions, you will notice how the excess volume disappears.
  • Walks in the open air. Daily hour-long walks with a newborn baby in the fresh air increase the overall tone of the body, improve intestinal motility and activate metabolism. Such walks stimulate the work of the abdominal and buttock muscles, help to lose excess weight and eliminate unnecessary centimeters on the waist and hips.
  • Breast-feeding. In the last stages of pregnancy, a woman’s body produces the hormones progesterone and relaxin, which ensure the elasticity of tissues and ligaments. Hormonal levels are no less important for postpartum muscle contraction. In women who breastfeed their baby, normalization of hormonal levels after childbirth occurs faster than in women in labor who, for one reason or another, do not have lactation. Restoring hormonal balance helps the body quickly return to its previous form. In addition, along with breast milk, about 40 grams of fat from internal reserves leave the body every day. About 500 kcal per day is spent on milk production, which speeds up getting rid of unnecessary weight. But if a woman does not breastfeed, then she can afford effective diets for weight loss.
  • Properly organized nutrition. In order to quickly remove extra centimeters from the waist, a woman should reconsider her diet. She will need to give up flour products, fatty, spicy and salty foods. But the amount of liquid you drink every day should be increased to two liters per day.
  • Good physical form. It is no secret that women who were actively involved in sports before pregnancy and were in good physical shape recover faster after childbirth. Therefore, in order to quickly remove the belly after childbirth, you should train the corset and abdominal muscles even at the stage of planning the baby.

Training rules

When answering the question of how to restore your belly after childbirth, you should talk about the most important rules. They will make it possible to quickly and effectively deal with the problem, forgetting about it for a long time. This includes the following points:

  1. Before the main exercises, there must be a warm-up. Light five-minute dances, limb swings, bending and squats without weight are perfect for this.
  2. You need to pump up your abs intensively, doing at least 20 and no more than 50 repetitions in each approach, which, in turn, should be exactly 3. If the workout consists only of this exercise, then its duration should be up to 15 minutes. At the same time, it is worth remembering that the press is not afraid of everyday training, so you can do it at any time, 7 times a week.
  3. It is very important to monitor your technique. 15 repetitions performed correctly will be much more effective than 30, but “anyhow.”
  4. During the training period, you need to keep your back straight and your abs tense. When relaxing, you should always inhale, and when making effort, exhale.

Some good exercises for losing belly fat after childbirth are presented below. Before performing them, it is imperative to study the technique, since if it is incorrect, it will be very difficult to achieve a positive effect.

Uterus during pregnancy and after childbirth

This muscular organ increases many times during pregnancy; at the end of pregnancy, the fundus of the uterus (its uppermost part) is located at a distance of 38-40 cm from the upper edge of the symphysis pubis. The enlarged uterus and fetus actually make up the bulk of the abdomen. Immediately after childbirth, a significant contraction of the uterus occurs, but the uterus does not immediately contract to its previous size. So, immediately after birth, its bottom is determined at a level of 16-20 cm above the womb (this distance is measured from the upper edge of the pubic symphysis), its weight is about 1000 g. This was the uterus at 16 weeks of pregnancy; Remember - then a small tummy was already noticeable. It is also noticeable after childbirth - this is completely normal. Over the next week, due to the reverse development of the uterus, its weight decreases to 500 g, by the end of the 2nd week - to 350 g, the 3rd - to 250 g, and only 5-6 weeks after birth the weight of the uterus is 50 g. the uterus is no longer defined above the womb, that is, the organ acquires a pre-pregnancy state. In order for the uterus to contract as quickly as possible, it is necessary first of all to follow modern breastfeeding rules, in particular to feed the baby on demand. With this feeding regimen, the woman’s brain produces the optimal amount of oxytocin, a hormone that promotes contraction of the muscles of the uterus. It is also recommended to apply ice on the stomach for 7-10 minutes 4-5 times a day in the maternity hospital. To do this, you need to take the ice pack out of the freezer of the refrigerator, which is always available in the postpartum department, and wrap it in a clean diaper. It is also necessary to lie on your stomach as often as possible.

Best exercise

No woman likes loose skin on her stomach after childbirth. Of course, you can get rid of it, but you will have to put in quite a lot of effort to do this. One of the most beneficial exercises for losing belly fat after childbirth is crunches. They are different, and each type is effective in its own way.

The first thing to consider is the classic crunch. They are quite easy to do:

  1. Lie on your back, bend your legs and press your feet to the floor, place your hands behind your head.
  2. Lift your shoulder blades off the floor, using only your abdominal muscles.
  3. Stay at the top point for a couple of seconds and return to the starting position.

The secrets of the technique are as follows:

  • the main task is to twist the body as close to the groin area as possible;
  • the chin should be pointing upward;
  • hands should not pull the head;
  • The lower back should not lift off the floor surface.

These crunches are a classic variation. As soon as you manage to master them, you can move on to more complicated exercises. For example, you can make the following changes:

  1. Fixation half way up. The essence of the exercise is that you first need to fixate, lifting only your shoulders off the floor, and then continue moving up and linger at the top point. In this case, it is necessary to return to the starting position with the same delays.
  2. Lack of support. The exercise will be more effective if you raise your legs up, bent at a right angle, and do not rest on your feet.

Figure correction methods

As practice has shown, there is no single effective method for reducing abdominal volume. There is a set of measures that will help solve all the problems that cause an enlarged tummy. So, the first and most important principle is proper nutrition.

Nutrition

Nutrition after childbirth should not be based on any diet. Limiting certain types of nutrients in the mother’s body can negatively affect the composition of milk, and as a result, the health of the child. Meals should be balanced, frequent and rich in valuable substances.

After childbirth, you need to give up pastries and white bread, replacing these delicacies with wholemeal bread. Give up sweets by replacing cakes and sweets with dried fruits and fruits. Eliminate rice and potatoes from your diet, replacing them with buckwheat and healthy vegetables. It is also necessary to avoid such harmful products as sausages, ketchup and mayonnaise. In addition, do not overuse fatty dairy products and fried foods.

A young mother needs to eat at least 5-6 times a day, in small portions. This is difficult at first, especially if during pregnancy you liked to eat along with your spouse. After a couple of weeks, your stomach will get used to small amounts of food, and you will not feel constantly hungry.

Physical activity

In order to lose weight, you need to be physically active. Even with proper nutrition, it is impossible to lose weight while sitting in a chair. You need to spend calories, and the amount of energy expended must exceed that entering the body.

In other words, you must burn more calories than you eat.

There is no need to start active training right away. The muscles need to be prepared. In the first week of exercise, you can limit yourself to morning exercises and climbing stairs, instead of riding the elevator. Also include walking in your daily schedule. Walking should be just walking, not sitting on a bench in the park.

After the first week of physical activity, you can begin to exercise. In order to tighten the abdominal muscles after pregnancy, there is no special set of exercises. You need to do the usual abdominal exercises, such as lifting the pelvis off the floor, squats, crunches from a lying position, raising the body from a lying position and holding the body on your elbows and toes.

This is a standard set of exercises to strengthen all abdominal muscle groups. Each exercise must be repeated at least 5-10 times. Over time, the number of exercises can be increased.

Supporting measures

If everything is relatively clear with getting rid of visceral and subcutaneous fat, as well as strengthening the abdominal muscles, then many people have the question of what to do with saggy and flabby skin on the abdomen. You can really lose weight and strengthen muscles quite quickly, but the skin recovers much more slowly.

In order to speed up the process of restoration of the abdominal skin, you need to use measures such as massage, the use of special creams, contrast showers and wearing a bandage. First things first.

Abdominal massage. This procedure is very useful in the postpartum period. However, it has a number of contraindications, such as an unhealed scar after a cesarean section, chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, elevated body temperature, and any infectious disease. Massage has a relaxing and tonic effect on the skin and intestines. Thanks to this, you can not only restore your beautiful appearance. The procedure will help get rid of such unpleasant ailments as constipation and increased gas formation, which often occur in women after childbirth due to weakening of the intestinal muscles.

Crema. Today there are a lot of products on sale that have a beneficial effect on the skin. Buy products only of natural origin. Creams for stretch marks, of course, will not get rid of them completely, but they will help to significantly improve the appearance of your skin. Products based on olive oil have proven themselves well. By the way, you can also use baby massage oil for these purposes. It perfectly moisturizes and tones the skin, which helps to quickly restore the appearance of the abdomen.

Cold and hot shower. This is a long-known procedure for restoring skin elasticity. Its effectiveness has been proven through numerous studies and tests.

Alternate washing with cold and hot water increases blood flow into the inner layers of the epidermis, which causes skin cells to renew themselves faster.

A contrast shower can also be used to restore breast shape after cessation of lactation.

Bandage. A bandage is most often recommended to be worn in the first weeks after childbirth to maintain relaxed abdominal muscles in the correct position. The bandage also helps tighten the skin. It can be used only in the absence of contraindications and after consultation with a gynecologist.

Of course, every woman after giving birth wants to return to her previous shape as quickly as possible. However, you need to remember that your body has not been in the best shape for nine months and it is simply impossible to return it to its previous volume in one week. Modern gynecologists give excellent advice to mothers who are losing weight. Experts say that regaining your figure after childbirth will go much faster if you breastfeed your baby on demand. Today, breastfeeding is recognized as a preventive measure for obesity in the postpartum period.

Reverse crunches

In addition to the above exercises, it is worth noting reverse twisting. It is also effective, but is somewhat difficult for beginners. This option is perfect for people who don’t know what to do with a flabby belly after childbirth. The technique for performing it will be as follows:

  1. Lie on your back, stretch your arms along your body, raise your legs perpendicular to the floor and bend your knees slightly.
  2. Lift your buttocks off the surface, tensing your abs, and then return to the starting position.

When answering the question about how to lose belly fat after childbirth, you need to talk about the correct preparation of workouts. They can contain about 3-4 exercises, among which reverse crunches must be present. They have a beneficial effect on the lower abdominal muscles, strengthening them and speeding up the process of eliminating a sagging belly.

When performing this exercise, women often make simple mistakes. These include the following points:

  • sudden lowering of the legs when returning to the original position;
  • push the limbs upward by straightening the knees.

Oblique muscle training

Being interested in how to remove a sagging belly after childbirth, mothers completely forget about the basic exercise that they performed as children. Diagonal twisting is very often done by children in schools. It is also used in fitness, so it is familiar to many.

It is performed in almost the same way as classic crunches. The only difference is that the lifts should not be straight - one shoulder should be directed towards the opposite knee. It is necessary to perform in turn: right shoulder to left knee, left to right.

Errors when performing diagonal twists are immediately noticeable. They are: bringing the elbows together and moving the elbow ahead of the arm, where the shoulder moves towards the knee, of the body.

You can complicate the exercise with dynamic leg movements. To do this, during the twisting process, you need to work with them in weight, imitating a bicycle and alternately pulling your knees to the opposite elbows.

These exercises allow you to tighten your stomach after childbirth at home. Their main advantage is that it is not necessary to use additional devices to perform it.

Diet for nursing

People are interested in how to restore their belly after childbirth, but they completely forget that drastic changes in diet will negatively affect the baby if the period of breastfeeding is not over yet. Therefore, you should not go on a strict diet right away. To start the process of losing weight, it will be enough to exclude the following products from the daily menu:

  • whole milk;
  • confectionery;
  • legumes;
  • eggs;
  • Black tea;
  • crustaceans;
  • coffee;
  • mayonnaise;
  • ketchup;
  • nuts;
  • citrus;
  • honey.

In addition, you should stop smoking, which causes toxic effects. It negatively affects two organisms at once, so you should forget about it in the near future.

The following products must be included in the diet:

  • fruit drink;
  • water;
  • fermented milk products;
  • fruits;
  • vegetables;
  • fish;
  • biscuits;
  • Herb tea;
  • lean meat.

When can you start returning to your former forms?

Despite the burning desire to get rid of the belly as quickly as possible after childbirth, you can begin full physical activity only after the uterus has completely contracted. If the birth took place naturally, without complications, then the uterus returns to its original size by the 40th day after the birth of the child.

However, not all young mothers are ready to wait that long. The very next day they want to put on old jeans, and certainly fit into such a fashionable and favorite skirt. But there’s still no need to rush.

In the first weeks after childbirth, you can speed up the process of uterine contraction, which will have a beneficial effect on the appearance of the abdomen. Firstly, in the absence of contraindications, you can do breathing exercises or wear a postpartum bandage. When the uterus contracts completely, you can think about more serious methods of rapid recovery.

Fast diet

When the feeding period has passed, you can begin to remove a large belly after childbirth with the help of a specific diet. To do this, you can choose a protein or carbohydrate option. Their duration should not exceed three days. After this period, you must continue to eat, following the rules intended for nursing mothers.

On protein days you need to drink a liter of kefir, and also eat 300 g of hard cheese, a couple of eggs, 500 g of fish and 200 g of berries. And in a carbohydrate diet you will have to consume 1.5 kg of vegetables, 200 g of bran, 1 liter of kefir, 100 g of mashed potatoes and 150 g of brown rice per day.
