Tablets "Lizobakt": instructions

Analogues of the described drug are taken differently from the original drug. This is always worth paying attention to. Remember that before use it is worth calculating the individual dosage of a particular medicine.

The drug "Lizobakt" is prescribed two capsules up to 4 times a day. This portion of the medication is prescribed for adult patients. If it is necessary to treat children, then the composition should be taken one lozenge every 6 hours. The composition should be used separately from meals. After using the medication, it is recommended to refrain from eating and drinking for one hour. The tablets must not be chewed. They should slowly dissolve in the mouth, enveloping the affected mucous membranes.

Medicinal properties of the drug

The medication acts on the affected area as an antiviral agent. Active substances stimulate increased immunity and increased protective functions of the body.

When the tablets are resorbed, they have an antimicrobial effect. Due to this, Lizobakt belongs to the category of antiseptics that act locally on the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and pharynx.

The following medicinal qualities of the tablets are highlighted:

  1. Helps eliminate painful discomfort in the throat, preventing coughing.
  2. Blocks the formation of swelling on the back wall of the larynx and palatine tonsils.
  3. Prevents foci of inflammation from expanding, covering a significant area.
  4. Blocks further increase in the number of pathogenic bacteria.

The lysozyme contained in the composition is aimed at neutralizing viruses, pathogenic bacteria and fungi. The substance provides protection to internal organs from numerous microorganisms.

Pyridoxine stimulates the regeneration of damaged areas in the oral cavity. The element acts on a par with lysozyme, but does not block its activity.

Mechanism of action

Normally, human saliva contains enough lysozyme to disinfect the pathogenic bacteria located there and protect the body from infections that affect the respiratory system and oral cavity. In case of severe infection, damage to the mucous membranes, as well as insufficient production of lysozyme, the protective properties of saliva disappear.

Lizobact will help here, the dose of which is set by the doctor, and it depends on the severity of the disease and the age of the patient. Due to the fact that the medicine acts in the mouth, and healing saliva is found here, to obtain the expected effect, the medicine should be dissolved rather than swallowed and chewed.

The drug affects the affected areas as follows:

  • in a short time it destroys the walls of microbes at the cellular level, releasing a strong immunity generator - muramyl dipeptide;
  • normalizes intestinal microflora;
  • insoluble membrane carbohydrates of gram-positive microorganisms are converted into mucopeptides that can be dissolved;
  • produces an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect;
  • prevents the formation of candidiasis;
  • is well absorbed in the mouth, the concentration reaches its limit after 60-90 minutes. after resorption of the pill;
  • hydrolysis of the drug occurs in the intestines, its elimination occurs through the kidneys;
  • pyridoxine has protective characteristics;
  • passes through the placenta and is absorbed into the milk of a nursing mother;
  • reduces swelling and pain;
  • prevents recurrence of the disease and its transition to a chronic form;
  • Pyridoxine activates metabolic processes and synthesizes hemoglobin.

For what diseases is it prescribed?

It is not recommended to use the tablets on your own. You should consult a doctor and identify the pathological condition that caused the development of the disease process.

There are diseases of the ENT organs and infectious and inflammatory processes on the mucous membrane, when treatment with Lysobact gives positive results:

  1. When tonsillitis occurs in an acute form or a chronic stage.
  2. Pain in the back of the larynx.
  3. For sore throat.
  4. For stomatitis caused by the herpes virus.
  5. With tracheitis.
  6. In case of erosion in the mouth and lips.
  7. For laryngitis.
  8. In inflammatory processes of the gums (gingivitis).
  9. With the development of pharyngitis.

When used correctly and in compliance with the dosage, according to the age category, Lizobact tablets are recommended for the treatment of herpetic lesions in the mouth, as part of complex therapy. The product should be used only according to the indications of a therapist or pediatrician and after diagnostics have been performed.

Side effects

Lizobact (instructions for use may indicate the presence of side effects) does not have a seriously pronounced negative effect on the body.

Sometimes they are expressed like this:

  • allergic manifestations in the form of a rash;

  • nettle fever;
  • itching;
  • skin hyperemia.

When consuming the medication in a higher dosage, the following symptoms may appear in the extremities:

  • loss of sensation;
  • numbness;
  • slight tingling.

Instructions for use and dosage

During the consultation, the pediatrician or therapist will select the ideal dosage of Lysobact for each patient individually. The specialist will determine exactly how long it will take for treatment and the frequency of administration per day.

The tablets are administered orally. The tablet is taken before meals for better absorption of the active ingredients, which during this time have time to begin to act and neutralize a sore throat. Thanks to the effect carried out, pain when swallowing is quickly eliminated.

The dragees are not washed down or chewed, they are only dissolved. It is recommended to keep the mass released during dissolution in the mouth for as long as possible without swallowing. This will ensure normal effects of the drug. Otherwise, incorrect use of tablets and rapid swallowing of the substance will not give the expected result, so the therapeutic effect will be weak.

If the patient exhibits other signs of intoxication of internal organs - a rise in temperature, aching bones, sore muscles and joints, then doctors prescribe a combination treatment. Additionally, antibacterial agents are prescribed.

For babies

The instructions state that only children over 3 years of age are allowed to take the drug, because such a child already understands that the tablet should not be spat out or chewed, but dissolved like candy. But, thanks to its unique composition that does not cause allergies, the use of Lyzobact is also possible for infants.

You must first consult a doctor for examination and determination of the disease that served as the impetus for the development of pain in the palatine tonsils and the posterior wall of the larynx. The doctor will clarify at what age the drug can be used and recommend the optimal dosage for treatment.

For children, the medicine is crushed into a fine powder, so that no large solid particles remain. Only 1/3 of the tablet is used for treatment. The resulting product is carefully poured into the slightly open mouth or smeared on the pacifier in the product. Over the next 30 minutes, it is forbidden to breastfeed and give the baby anything to drink.

This treatment does not lead to a full recovery, but it significantly improves the baby’s well-being.

Children aged one year and older

Children over 1 year old and under 3 years old are allowed to treat a sore throat with 1/3 tablet no more than 3 times a day. The medicine is used only for resorption.

But not all doctors recommend crushing the drug to children. Many believe that a child can inhale the powder into the airways, where undissolved lumps can cause obstruction.

In addition, young children may develop an allergy to pyridoxine, a substance belonging to the B vitamins.

baby feeding

For children over 3 years of age and adult patients, a special scheme for treating the throat has been developed:

  1. For children aged 3-5 years, it is allowed to use the drug 1 tablet before each meal, but not more than 3 times a day.
  2. For schoolchildren from 6 to 12 years old, the maximum possible dosage is 4 tablets per day, 1 tablet every 6 hours.
  3. For teenagers, starting from 13 years old, the effective norm is 2 tablets no more than 4 times a day.

The duration of therapy is regulated by the doctor, most often it is 8 days. In case of severe disease, the doctor prolongs the treatment process. But if the therapy does not help - soreness and pain when swallowing are present, stimulating the cough reflex - you should consult a doctor to select an analogue.

Features of medication use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

The active substances of the drug do not penetrate the placental barrier during pregnancy - Lizobact is allowed for pregnant women to take.

During lactation, the use of tablets is not prohibited. This is due to the fact that the active components do not pass into breast milk. Therefore, when treated with the drug, transferring the baby to artificial feeding and breastfeeding will not be required.

mom breastfeeds

In the 1st trimester, it is better not to use any medications at all, including Lizobact, due to the fact that the formation of the baby’s most important organs occurs in the early stages. Therefore, if the active component accidentally penetrates into the fetus, there is a possibility of the development of defects, which will lead to a frozen pregnancy, miscarriage, as well as the birth of a child with congenital pathologies.

There are no contraindications for use in the second trimester of pregnancy. But in the last stages of gestation, in the third trimester, use is also prohibited.

The dosage of the drug, if diseases develop during pregnancy or breastfeeding, remains standard. Before use, you should consult with your doctors to ensure safe therapeutic effects.

What to do in case of overdose

If several tablets are taken accidentally or intentionally, the patient feels numbness and tingling in the palms and feet. The sensitivity of the limbs may disappear. To neutralize the effect of the medicine and prevent poisoning, it is necessary to give the patient a large amount of water. This will allow the active components to leave the body faster with urine.

How do throat antiseptics work?

Laripront and Lizobakt are combined antiseptics for topical use. The effect of the drugs is determined by the components they contain.

Lysobacter

Lysobacter

The drug contains two components. Lysozyme is an enzyme of protein origin. It directly affects pathogenic and opportunistic flora: bacteria, fungi, viruses. The enzyme acts on murein and other peptidoglycans that make up the cell wall. Lysozyme is most effective against gram-positive bacteria - it is in their structure that there is a lot of peptidoglycan. The drug also works against viruses – it forms complexes with them and prevents their penetration into the cell.

Other effects:

  1. participates in the regulation of immunity - activates nonspecific mechanisms to protect the body;
  2. has an anti-inflammatory effect - suppresses the development of edema, hyperemia, pain;
  3. has a hemostatic effect - accelerates the healing of ulcers on the mucous membrane;
  4. is a mucolytic - facilitates the production of sputum during respiratory tract infections.

Pyridoxine is a form of vitamin B6. It is involved in protein metabolism and protects the cells of the oral mucosa from the effects of negative factors. It does not directly affect pathogenic flora, but only enhances the effect of lysozyme.

The pharmacodynamics of the drug are not indicated in the instructions for use. Since lysozyme and pyridoxine act solely locally and do not enter the bloodstream, systemic reactions are not expected.

Laripront

Laripront

The combination drug consists of two components. The action of lysozyme was mentioned above. The antiseptic effect of lysozyme is complemented by dequalinium chloride. This substance is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi. Dequalinium chloride not only has a detrimental effect on pathogenic flora, but also enhances the effect of lysozyme - facilitates the penetration of the enzyme into the deep layers of the mucous membrane.

Laripront acts only locally. The components of the drug do not penetrate into the bloodstream and do not have a systemic effect.

Contraindications and side effects

For proper use and the absence of side effects, it is worth checking for contraindications before starting the treatment process. The following points are highlighted when you should not use the product:

  1. With a lack of lactose.
  2. Children's age – up to 3 years.
  3. Hereditary lactose intolerance, as well as glucose-galactose malabsorption.

You should not use Lyzobact if you have individual hypersensitivity to the main or auxiliary components.

If you do not follow the recommendations, side effects appear. Most often, an allergic reaction occurs on the skin.

Important information about contraindications

The drug "Lizobakt" (cheap analogues for children as well) is prescribed only after three years. Some similar compositions are completely acceptable after 4-5 years, for example “Grammidin”. There are also medications approved for use from the first days of life (Miramistin).

The drug "Lizobakt", analogues (cheap) for children are used only as prescribed by a doctor. Remember that any amateur activity can lead to unpleasant consequences and the development of intolerance to the components. The drug "Lizobakt" is not prescribed for hypersensitivity to the components. Also, lactase deficiency is a reason for refusing treatment.

The drug is usually well tolerated. Rarely, allergic reactions may occur in case of overdose. That is why the medication can be used by expectant mothers and children.

Indications for use

The drug is a strong antiviral and antiseptic that effectively fights lesions of the oral cavity: as a rule, it is prescribed for inflammation and infectious diseases of the throat, larynx, gums and oral cavity. Among the most common diagnoses for which the use of Lysobact is advisable, it is necessary to highlight the following:

  • Stomatitis.
  • Gingivitis (bacterial or fungal).
  • Periodontal diseases.
  • Oral herpes.
  • Pharyngitis.
  • Tonsillitis.
  • Laryngitis.
  • Tracheitis.
  • Erosion of the oral mucosa, aphthous ulcerations.
  • Sinusitis of catarrhal form.
  • Inflammation of the gums and larynx.
  • ARVI.
  • Vincent's angina.
  • Prevention and treatment of cough reflex of various etiologies.

Assessing the effectiveness of drugs

The main active ingredient of Lyzobact and Laripont - lysozyme - has been studied by researchers since the beginning of the last century. Back in 1922, A. Fleming found out that this enzyme destroys bacteria in the nasal discharge of a cold patient. Scientists later discovered that lysozyme is most active against gram-positive bacteria.

Despite the interest of scientists in lysozyme, we were not able to find many articles on this problem in the PubMed database. Many materials describe the enzyme's operation only in vitro and do not show how lysozyme acts in a specific clinical situation. But there are also articles that deserve attention:

  1. One review showed that lysozyme protects and repairs gums in cases of gingivitis and periodontitis. However, the study cannot be called large-scale and randomized to be taken seriously.
  2. In another article, the authors analyzed the effect of lysozyme in aphthous stomatitis. Clinical trials have shown that the drug effectively copes with the disease and improves the patient’s condition within three months of treatment.

We were unable to find convincing evidence regarding upper respiratory tract infection. There is no reliable information on this problem in foreign literature. Russian-language sources contain data on the effectiveness of using local antiseptics for throat diseases (including in children).

The second component of the drug Lizobakt - pyridoxine - was added to increase the protective properties of the mucous membrane. Clinical studies show that a lack of vitamin B6 leads to the development of chronic stomatitis. However, there are no double-blind, placebo-controlled trials on this issue, so it is impossible to speak unequivocally about the benefits of pyridoxine in the drug.

There is even less information regarding dequalinium chloride, which is part of the drug Laripront. In the medical literature it is positioned as an antiseptic for topical use in gynecology. We were unable to find reliable information about the effect of dequalinium chloride on the microflora of the oral cavity.

special instructions

The tablet must be dissolved slowly, but under no circumstances chewed. Even if a small piece of the tablet remains in the mouth, it must continue to be kept in the mouth until it is completely dissolved by saliva. The longer the drug acts on the oral mucosa, the more effective and faster the treatment will be.

As for compatibility with other drugs, Lysobact enhances the effect of some antibiotics, for example, penicillin, as well as diuretics.

What analogues of Lizobact are there for pregnant women?

When answering the question whether Lyzobact is harmful during pregnancy, it is also worth paying special attention to analogues of this drug. Indeed, in our time, not everyone can afford to buy expensive drugs. Along with this, a line of medicines that are analogues of Lizobact was recently released. The most common of them are:

  1. Umkalor
    . A modern medicine necessary for the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the oral cavity. Also, its spectrum of action includes the treatment and prevention of bronchitis, tracheitis and pharyngitis.
  2. Malavit
    . In addition to its powerful antibacterial effect, this medicine is also used to treat skin, dermatitis, bedsores, burns, insect bites and even vascular abnormalities.
  3. Hepilor
    . If you have a sore throat during pregnancy, Lizobact will have a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. Also, its range of treatment includes the prevention of all diseases of the oral cavity.

These drugs are considered the most effective in treating any disease in the mouth and throat.
However, they do not have such a powerful effect as Lysobact. Analogues of this drug that can cure infections and coughs during pregnancy include Givalex, Alteyka, Zitrox, Dolphin, Nimid and other drugs.
You can buy Lyzobact at any pharmacy without a prescription - you just need to know the name of the medication and the extent of its purpose. Lizobact is the most modern and most effective drug that can cure any oral disease in just a week. At the same time, you will be able to lead your usual lifestyle without denying yourself any of it. The main thing to remember is that you should take it only after it has been prescribed by a doctor in order to avoid many unpleasant situations.
