Sage when planning pregnancy
Salvia officinalis is widely used in medicine, as it has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties - sage is used to treat stomatitis, sore throat, bronchitis; in complex therapy, sage decoction is indicated for chronic cystitis in women. Sage tea improves immunity, improves sleep, general condition of skin and hair, and improves digestion.
But sage is especially known for the treatment of infertility and is indicated when planning pregnancy - due to the phytoestrogens contained in the herb, which are similar to female sex hormones. If they are deficient, a woman looks bad - hair and skin are dull, libido is reduced, dryness in the genitals, painful and irregular menstruation is observed. There may be a complete absence of ovulation or its rare occurrence. Sage infusions compensate for this deficiency and significantly increase the chance of conceiving a baby.
Phytoestrogens are neither hormones of plants themselves, nor estrogens in their pure form, but when they enter the human body, they cause an effect similar to hormonal therapy.
Important! You should not thoughtlessly take any medications, including those of herbal origin. Before use, consult your doctor - sage has many contraindications.
- Hypertensive patients should not drink it - infusions can increase blood pressure
- It is strictly forbidden to take sage orally if you have uterine fibroids or any other endocrine neoplasms.
- Before using infusions, it is necessary to take hormone tests. With a normal amount of estrogen in the body, the use of sage can only cause harm
Prescriptions and contraindications
Sage infusion for ovulation is useful because it stimulates the formation of an egg to the desired size. This is due to its properties, which act as synthetic substitutes for estrogen in the first phase of the cycle.
Sage also stimulates ovulation in the form of essential oil, which is rubbed into the skin of the lower abdomen with a light massage, from days 4 to 14 of the cycle. Sometimes a decoction of this herb is used, which is prepared in a water bath or, in more rare cases, juice. The latter should be salted and consumed a teaspoon several times a day (3-4).
Sage essential oil is used to stimulate ovulation
Having studied the effect and prescribed sage for ovulation, experts and doctors give positive reviews, confirming its stimulating effect on maturation, increasing the duration of the process and helping in pregnancy.
Contraindications for use are:
- kidney diseases;
- uterine bleeding;
- low pressure;
- thyroid diseases;
- menstrual irregularities.
It is strictly prohibited to consume grass while breastfeeding or pregnant.
When prescribing sage for ovulation and conception, doctors warn that you should not drink the infusion for a long time, since inflammatory processes in the genitals may occur. The course of treatment should not exceed three months. If fertilization does not occur, a break of a couple of months is prescribed. After which it is permissible to repeat the course.
From the comments of women who were helped by sage for ovulation, it is clear that when used correctly, the effect is quite positive and assistance in conception is undeniable. The most important thing is to drink it without exceeding the dose and number of days taken. It is better to do this under the supervision of your doctor.
When using sage to stimulate ovulation, do not neglect the advice of a doctor.
How to take sage when planning pregnancy?
For proper egg formation, estrogen levels must gradually increase during the menstrual cycle. On the first day of menstruation, it is minimal, but the hormone should begin to be actively produced on the fifth day of the cycle.
Under its influence, the uterus is saturated with nutrients and blood, cervical mucus is produced - through it, sperm can easily reach a mature egg. The high content of cervical mucus also contributes to good sperm survival.
If enough estrogen is produced, it gradually accumulates and around day 14 a hormonal - ovulatory - surge occurs in the body. Under the influence of hormones, the mature follicle bursts and the egg enters the fallopian tube. This is a kind of trigger - under its influence ovulation occurs.
After ovulation, for the cycle to continue normally and a potential pregnancy to continue, estrogen levels must fall.
In this regard, a specific regimen for taking sage infusion has been developed, which helps saturate the body with the hormones necessary for the onset of ovulation.
Regimen for taking sage infusion when planning pregnancy
Start taking the infusion on the fifth day of the menstrual cycle - when the level of estrogen in the body should begin to rise. A glass of decoction is divided into 4 parts and drunk throughout the day at regular intervals. A fresh portion of tea is prepared every day; it cannot be stored.
You need to drink the sage infusion for about 10 days, while checking your basal temperature. On the 14-15th day of the menstrual cycle, when ovulation occurs, the drug is stopped. For the cycle to continue normally, estrogen levels must begin to fall after ovulation.
You can enhance the effect of sage infusion by adding linden tea, infusion of hop cones or nettle. Also indicated when planning pregnancy is an infusion of boron uterus, which is taken in the second half of the cycle.
If pregnancy does not occur in the first cycle, continue taking sage, you can carry out three courses of treatment - that is, drink the infusion for three months in a row. Then you need a break of one month - the body will rest. Then the course can be repeated.
Sage for infertility.
A doctor can prescribe sage for the treatment of infertility, in addition to hormonal drugs - duphaston and utrozhestan. Thanks to natural phytoestrogens, sage infusions can correct hormonal levels, improve overall well-being, enhance libido, and increase overall immunity. Sage infusions increase the cervical reflex. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, sage infusions, baths and douches relieve background inflammatory processes that interfere with conception. The quality of cervical mucus, necessary for the normal movement of sperm, increases.
When treating infertility, sage infusion is taken internally in the same way as when planning pregnancy, only it is prepared like tea - a glass of boiling water is taken per teaspoon of dry herb, infused for 10 minutes, and filtered. The resulting infusion is divided into three parts and drunk throughout the day. The last portion is at least three hours before bedtime. You can enhance the effect of sage by adding strong linden tea to the infusion. It is good to dilute a portion of the infusion with lingonberry or cranberry juice.
