Fruit (development, size)
The laying and formation of organs is still ongoing, but now the baby will grow very quickly. Now he weighs about 7-8 g, and the coccygeal-parietal size is on average 5 cm. But in just 2 weeks, his length from the head to the buttocks will double.
From the 11th week, doctors call the embryo a fetus. His heart functions fully, just like an adult’s: it supplies the organs with blood. Blood vessels complete their formation, their number in the placenta increases: the needs of the fetus will increase rapidly as it grows, and the placenta must supply a sufficient amount of nutrients and oxygen. It becomes more and more dense, and by the end of the 15th week it will function absolutely fully.
The first lymphocytes appear in the blood, forming the child’s future immunity, endocrine glands develop, and the baby’s brain works.
The liver is actively developing - it occupies 10% of the child’s entire body. The kidneys work, removing waste products through the mother’s body. The small intestine has not yet fully formed and is not in place, but is already training to work: at week 11 it makes its first movements reminiscent of peristalsis.
The genitals of your handsome man or woman are becoming more and more shaped. His eye color is also determined - at 11 weeks the iris is formed. The fruit is quite funny: the arms are much longer than the legs, the ears are located too low, the head is still very large, but he is already trying to lift it, so the neck is gradually becoming stronger.
Week 11 is the time when the baby’s sense of smell appears. He smells the food his mother eats and is already forming his gastronomic tastes. The baby can stretch, cover his face with his hands, and he is already beginning to communicate with his mother, although you do not feel it yet: the fetus reacts to sudden movements or shocks from the outside (coughing, laughing, sneezing). Sensitivity also appears in his palms and fingers, he is already trying to grab with his hand and generally behaves very actively, spinning and turning over.
Healthy pregnancy
The baby begins to move at 7 weeks of pregnancy. He already has arms and legs, a face and fingers, and a brain are developing. It is at 7 weeks of pregnancy that the fetus begins to receive nutrients and oxygen from the mother’s blood. In this case, the discharge may acquire a slightly yellowish color. This is due to the rapid renewal of the uterine epithelium for the normal exchange of fluids in its cavity.
A woman should not normally experience pain in the lower abdomen during this period. If it is still present, then you should monitor the discharge very carefully. Bloody discharge signals that the fetus is not well. There may be a threat of miscarriage developing.
Important! If the expectant mother feels well, then there is no reason to worry. Doctors recommend moving a lot, eating right and not worrying about trifles.
If there are no contraindications to having sex, then at this stage physical contact brings future parents closer together and has a beneficial effect on the psycho-emotional state of the woman. Possible contraindications include the threat of failure, a history of miscarriage.
It is best to stop playing sports or replace them with fitness for pregnant women, swimming or yoga. It is also useful to walk in the fresh air and do morning exercises. Physical activity is dangerous only when there is a threat of failure.
